Michael Ballack announces career end
Ballack’s lawyer was the one to deliver the message. Only a few weeks ago, rumors were circulating about Ballack joining the Western Sydney Wanderers.
Ballack had the following to say: “I’m lucky to look back at a long and wonderful time in professional football, something which I wouldn’t have dared to dream of as a kid. It was a privilege to work with exceptional coaches and fantastic players. I sure will miss playing in front of 80,000 fans and scoring goals.”
He continues: “However, the last few months without active football showed me that the time is here to stop. I’m looking forward to a new chapter of my life and want to thank my family and all of the great people who have encouraged, supported and accompanied me along the way. They were a big part of my success.”
Goodbye, Capitano!
